Poems and Songs
by Beth Stevens

the fat cat of epiphany
trots down my hall
seeking her particular friends:
black & white Ruth,
silver Shadow

only to end up playing
all by herself
batting the noisy
jingle ball, helter-skelter

across an infinitely checkered
floor

This site showcases poetry from three books: Silver Coin ©1977, Dreambird ©1990 and Champagne Over Water ©2007, along with more recent poems.

Should your taste run to fantasy, you'll find songs celebrating strong women, chivalrous cats, cold-hearted elves and sly dragons. Many were first published in my Unicorn Country songbook and on an album called Lady of Lies. Enjoy!
