RambleAmble More Poems Song Lyrics Back to Index

desert yucca

what a graceful
richly textured thing
to find silhouetted against rock
or growing out of sand –
elegant companion
to the prickly creosote,
the desolate tumbleweed –
like some exotic hothouse bloom
pinned for a corsage
on the sparse, dry bosom
of the land
